TORONTO, Feb 17 (Reuters) - Canadian specialty pharmaceutical firm Paladin Labs Inc PLB.TO posted a higher quarterly profit on Thursday, helped by promotions for certain drugs.
In the fourth quarter, the company benefited from the marketing of pain drug Tridural, analgesic Metadol, testosterone gel Testim and contraceptive Plan B.
Earnings rose to C$14 million, or 72 Canadian cents a share, from C$4.4 million, or 23 Canadian cents a share, a year ago. Montreal-based Paladin recorded a gain of C$3.5 million in the year-ago quarter.
