TORONTO, Jan 21 (Reuters) - Iamgold Corp (IMG.TO) said on Thursday its 2009 gold production was 939,000 ounces, which was in-line with its latest forecast and 7 percent above its original forecast.
The company said its flagship operation, the Rosebel gold mine in Suriname, South America, helped boost its production results.
Toronto, Ontario-based Iamgold said cash costs for 2009 are expected to have fallen within the range of $460 to $470 per ounce of gold.
Iamgold forecast 2010 gold production of between 940,000 ounces and 1 million ounces, at average cash costs of $490 to $510 per ounce. (Reporting by Euan Rocha, editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
