US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Wall St ends about flat, election in focus

NEW YORK, Oct 26 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks ended little changed on Tuesday ahead of the potential tumult from next week’s U.S. elections and likely announcement of more stimulus from the Federal Reserve.

Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones industrial average .DJI rose 5.41 points, or 0.05 percent, to end at 11,169.46. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index .SPX was up 0.04 points, or 0.00 percent, at 1,185.66. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC was up 6.44 points, or 0.26 percent, at 2,497.29.
