TORONTO, July 30 (Reuters) - Mobile modem maker Sierra Wireless SW.TO (SWIR.O) reported a quarterly loss on Thursday as special charges ate into results and revenue slumped more than 13 percent.

The results included some $18.8 million in restructuring and other costs related to the acquisition of wireless technology firm Wavecom earlier this year, the company said.
Revenue fell to $135.3 million from $155.7 million.
For the third quarter of this year, Sierra said it expects revenue of $135 million and net earnings of 6 cents per share before items.
