Feb 3 (Reuters) - Technology services provider Calian Technologies Ltd CTY.TO posted a marginal increase in quarterly profit, driven by its business and technology division.
For the first quarter, the company earned C$3.4 million ($3.22 million), or 44 Canadian cents a share, compared with C$3.3 million, or 42 Canadian cents a share, a year ago.
Although the company’s total revenue fell 5 percent to C$52.1 million, its business and technology division held up well, posting a 5 percent rise in revenue.
For 2010, the company said it expects earnings per share in the range of C$1.50 to C$1.80 on revenue of C$205 million to C$225 million.
Shares of Ottawa, Ontario-based Calian were trading nearly flat at C$17.50 in afternoon trade Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. ($1=1.055 Canadian Dollar) (Reporting by Abhiram Nandakumar in Bangalore; Editing by Anil D‘Silva)
