* Deal valued at $165 million
* JDS Uniphase says deal will add to earnings from 2011
* Deal expected to close in June quarter 2010
Feb 11 (Reuters) - U.S. electronics testing equipment maker Agilent Technologies Inc (A.N) said it would sell its network solutions business to telecom equipment maker JDS Uniphase Corp JDSU.O for $165 million.
The network solutions business includes Agilent's network assurance solutions, network protocol test and drive test products, the company said on Thursday, adding it expected the transaction to close by end-June.
Agilent said it was selling its network solutions business because it believed the business and its customers will be better served by a company that was focused exclusively on communications network testing.
Seperately, JDS Uniphase said it expects the deal to add to non-GAAP earnings on a quarterly basis and for the full year starting in fiscal 2011.
"This acquisition establishes JDS Uniphase as a market leader in wireless test instruments and systems," Chief Executive Tom Waechter said in a statement. (Reporting by Sakthi Prasad in Bangalore; Editing by Jon Loades-Carter)
