Feb 23 (Reuters) - Canadian waste management company IESI-BFC Ltd BIN.TO reported a lower-than-expected quarterly profit on higher costs and forecast 2010 revenue below estimates.
For the quarter ended Dec. 31, the company reported a net income of $9.9 million, flat with last year. On a per-share basis, it earned 11 cents, compared with 14 cents in the same period last year.
Excluding items, adjusted net income was 16 cents a share, up from 15 cents a share, in the prior-year period.
Revenue rose 8 percent to $262.5 million.
Analysts on average were expecting earnings of 18 cents a share, on revenue of $256.3 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
For 2010, IESI-BFC expects revenue of $1.07 billion to $1.10 billion. Analysts were expecting revenue of $1.17 billion for the year.
