May 6 (Reuters) - Canadian wealth manager Gluskin Sheff + Associates Inc (GS.TO) reported a 28 percent jump in quarterly profit, buoyed by higher base management fees.
For the third quarter March 31, net income was C$5.2 million ($4.94 million), or 17 Canadian cents per share, compared with C$4.1 million, or 14 Canadian cents per share, a year ago.
Revenue rose 36 percent to C$19.6 million.
Base management fees were up 35 percent at C$19.3 million.
Analysts on average were expecting the company to earn 20.8 Canadian cents per share, on revenue of C$20.1 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
