May 13 (Reuters) - Bus maker New Flyer Industries Inc NFI_u.TO posted a loss, hurt by non-cash charges and higher interest costs.
For the first quarter ended April 4, the company reported a net loss of $13 million, compared with earnings of $4.8 million last year.
Consolidated revenue was down 11 percent at $243 million.
Bus-manufacturing revenue fell 12 percent to $216 million.
The company said non-cash charges rose to $19.5 million from $4.1 million last year.
Units of the company were trading down 7 Canadian cents at C$10.85 Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
