June 29 (Reuters) - SunOpta Inc (SOY.TO) (STKL.O), a Canadian company focusing on organic foods and natural health products, said its SunOpta Fruit Group agreed to market and distribute Clearwater Country Foods’ Garden Green Garbanzo.
SunOpta, which plans to initially launch the product in July, expects the deal to add about $10 million in revenue in the first full year of commercialization, it said in a statement.
SunOpta will be responsible for global sales and distribution of Garden Green Garbanzo, with Palouse, North Central Idaho-based Clearwater sourcing and supplying the patented beans.
Shares of the Brampton, Ontario-based company — which has three business groups, SunOpta Food Group, Opta Minerals Inc and SunOpta BioProcess Group — closed at C$4.90 Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Abhiram Nandakumar in Bangalore; Editing by Maju Samuel)
