Oct 5 (Reuters) - Canadian solar technology company Arise Technologies Corp APV.TO expects third-quarter revenue to more than triple on strong photovoltaic (PV) cell shipments.
For the July-September quarter, Arise sees quarterly revenue of about C$23 million, up from C$6.6 million a year ago, on a five-fold increase in shipments — from 3.5 MW to 19.5 MW.
The company sees lower sequential growth in PV cell shipments for the rest of 2010 and 2011 as a production line at its plant in Germany has been operating at full capacity for the entire quarter.
The company, which said inventory levels remain at the low end of its expectations, will have to install more production lines for more growth.
Arise also said it continued talks with three companies to commercialize its silicon technology.
Shares of the Waterloo, Ontario-based company rose 12 percent to 23 Canadian cents in early trade Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Abhiram Nandakumar in Bangalore; Editing by Don Sebastian)
