Oct 18 (Reuters) - Quadra FNX Mining Ltd’s QUX.TO quarterly copper and gold production at its Robinson mine in Nevada fell, and the Canadian miner forecast 2010 output from the mine to be at the lower end of its prior outlook.
Copper production at the Robinson mine, which was the biggest contributor to the company’s second-quarter revenue, fell 21 percent to 26.7 million pounds in the third quarter.
Gold production at the mine was 15,300 ounces, compared with 21,142 ounces of gold during the third quarter of 2009.
Vancouver-based Quadra, which recently bought FNX Mining for C$1.6 billion, said it expects 2010 copper production at the Robinson mine to be at the lower end of its prior outlook of 115-125 million pounds of copper, while gold production is expected to achieve the target of 75,000 ounces.
Shares of the company, which have fallen 7 percent since it agreed to buy FNX in March, closed at C$15.95 Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
