* Q3 rev up 57 pct
Nov 10 (Reuters) - Canadian fuel-cell maker Hydrogenics Corp (HYG.TO) posted a narrower quarterly loss, helped partly by lower expenses.
For the third quarter, net loss was $2.1 million, or 47 cents a share, compared with a loss of $5.4 million, or $1.47 per share, a year ago.
Revenue rose 57 percent to $5.6 million.
Operating expenses fell 36 percent to $3.9 million.
Hydrogenics, which develops hydrogen generation products for industrial and commercial markets, said order backlog as of Sept. 30 was $19.4 million.
Shares of the Mississauga, Ontario-based company closed at $3.62 on Tuesday on the Toronto Stock exchange. They have lost about 9 percent since the company posted a narrower second-quarter loss in late July. (Reporting by Vaishnavi Bala in Bangalore; Editing by Maju Samuel)
