Feb 8 (Reuters) - Canada’s Westport Innovations Inc WPT.TO WPRT.O posted a wider quarterly loss, hurt mainly by higher investments for the development of new natural gas engines and higher expenses.
Third-quarter net loss nearly doubled to $13.5 million, or 31 cents a share, from $6.9 million, or 20 cents a share, a year ago.
The company, which supplies alternative fuel and low-emissions transportation technologies, posted a 9 percent rise in revenue at $39.5 million.
