Laurentian Bank profit rises; dividend up 6 pct

TORONTO, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Laurentian Bank’s (LB.TO) quarterly profit jumped 33 percent, helped in part by loan and deposit growth, and raised its quarterly dividend by 6 percent.

    Laurentian, Canada’s eighth-largest bank by market value, said it earned C$30.9 million ($29 million), or C$1.17 a share, in the quarter ended July 31.

    That compared with profit of C$23.2 million, or 85 Canadian cents a share, a year earlier.
