Inmet Mining first-quarter profit up 5.5 percent

TORONTO, April 29 (Reuters) - Inmet Mining IMN.TO said on Tuesday its first-quarter profit rose 5.5 percent amid higher copper and gold prices.

The Canadian metals producer earned C$106.7 million ($105.6 million), or C$2.21 a share, in the quarter ended March 31, up from C$101.1 million, or C$2.09 a share, a year earlier. ($1=$1.01 Canadian) (Reporting by Jonathan Spicer; Editing by Bernadette Baum)
