Agnico-Eagle quarterly profit rises on tax gain

    TORONTO, Feb 20 (Reuters) - Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd (AEM.TO) said on Wednesday its fourth-quarter profit rose 56 percent, helped by a $29.8 million gain on a reduction in income tax rates.

    The Canadian gold producer earned a net $65.2 million, or 46 a share, in the three months ended Dec. 31, up from $41.9 million, or 34 per share, a year earlier. (Reporting by Cameron French; Editing by Peter Galloway)
