TORONTO, May 6 (Reuters) - Barrick Gold Corp (ABX.TO) said on Tuesday it earned $514 million, or 58 cents a share, in the first quarter, rebounding from a loss a year earlier.
The profit compared to a loss of $159 million, or 18 cents a share, in the first quarter a year ago, when the company took a charge to exit forward sales contracts, the world’s No. 1 gold producer said. ($1=$1.01 Canadian) (Reporting by Frank Pingue; Editing by Bernadette Baum)
