U.S. hails big win in technology trade case against EU

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States has won an “important victory” in a World Trade Organization case that challenged tariffs imposed by the European Union on electronic products, the top U.S. trade official said on Monday.

“This ruling affirms the principle that changes in technology are not an excuse to apply new duties to products covered by the Information Technology Agreement,” U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk said in a statement.
