(Reuters) - Intel Corp confirmed that its senior executive Sean Maloney will move from Silicon Valley, California to head the chipmaker’s operations in China.

Executive vice president Maloney, who was the general manager of Intel Architecture Group, returned to the company in January from medical leave of absence after suffering a stroke in March last year.

The world’s largest semiconductor company, which is positive about growth in PC sales in emerging Asia, particularly in China and India, earned 57 percent o3f its first-quarter total revenue from operations in Asia Pacific.
