Naftogaz seeks 12-month gas package with Russia at talks on Monday

Ukraine last week signed an interim deal for cheaper supplies of gas from Russia for the next three months, providing a breathing space for both sides in their protracted wrangle over pricing..

But it is still hoping three-way talks, bringing together Russia and the European Commission can achieve a longer term deal to cover the coming winter.

“We would prefer it to be signed as soon as possible. We have a more or less stable situation for the next three months,” Kobolev told a news conference after an initial comment that he saw a deal signed on Monday.
