LIMA (Reuters) - Peru’s head of Congress, Luis Valdez, said on Sunday that all of the legislature’s political parties had agreed to ask for the “immediate” resignation of interim President Manuel Merino after a night of protests that left two people dead and dozens injured.

Valdez said the legislature would begin an impeachment process if Merino did not resign.
