Russia slaps travel ban on five U.S. officials

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia’s foreign ministry said on Tuesday it had introduced a travel ban on 5 law-enforcement officials from the United States in retaliation for a similar action by Washington.

The United States imposed sanctions on Monday on five Russian officials it accuses of human rights abuses including four it said were involved in the 2009 death in prison of a corruption-fighting Russian lawyer.
