Putin says Turkey did apologize for shooting down Russian plane

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Turkey apologized for the shooting down of a Russian war plane last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin told a meeting with Russian diplomats on Thursday.

Officials in Ankara say they had expressed regret but stopped short of apologizing.
